Engagement Rings

“Engagement,” is a large-scale sculpture by noted artist Dennis Oppenheim. The work is intended to remind the viewer that marriage requires a balance between two people with different interests, tastes and backgrounds. “Engagement” represents the dichotomy of marriage, expressing the romantic and the melancholy.

STUPID

THIS IS STUPID! IT'S UGLY! This will only encourage people never to get married. It looks like the work of a bunch of sugar-high third graders. They should at least hang some swings from it and get some use out of it.

Artist should have taken up poetry and spared us the eyesore. Isn't it leaving out two other groups of couples?
