BARRIO LOGAN

Dating back to the 19th century, Barrio Logan, recognized as Logan Heights, is one of the oldest neighborhoods in San Diego, with a long history honoring its working-class Chicano/Mexican- American community and culture. During the 1960s, the construction of Interstate 5 and the San Diego-Coronado Bridge dissected the community. Residents, refusing to be displaced, creatively adapted to City-imposed industrial rezoning, which has contributed to the area’s unique mixed-use land pattern.

LOS PATIOS
1776 National Avenue, San Diego

Self guided tour & guided tours / SAT & SUN 11AM - 3PM

Los Patios is a recently completed mixed-use development located two blocks north of Chicano Park in Barrio Logan, the epicenter of Mexican-American culture in San Diego. The building’s social and neighborly aspirations, environmentally passive layout strategy, and colorful design were inspired by Mexican "vecindades" (a kind of tenement where individual apartments encircle a central patio).

Each floor offers wide access balconies around the central patio, connecting to each loft suite and facilitating natural light and cross ventilation from both sides. Units have private patio/balcony lofts and are designed with large floor to ceiling glass openings that maximize in-out connections and frame the beautiful sunset views to the bay, Coronado Bridge and the downtown skyline.

Stop by to explore this unique building and to enjoy complimentary samples from local restaurant pop-ups: Cafe Madeline on Saturday and El Pez on Sunday.
