Exotic Gardens is a unique multi-family development in the heart of University Heights. The five story building seamlessly utilizes simple forms enhanced by colors and materials that emphasize solids and voids. With the renaissance of construction happening on this block, this project is a great example of the type of developments that should be built. Large glazing sections on the exterior are complemented by crisp metal siding, white framed plaster and natural golden cedar to create a warm contrast of materials.
The apartments are arranged around a central courtyard, which has become a community gathering spots for tenants with a welcoming fire pit and native plantings. Units have high ceilings, making the apartments feel more spacious. Select units have large glass roll-up doors that expand living rooms onto their private balconies, as well as other living spaces that connect to the outdoors and fresh San Diego breezes. Exotic Gardens is a great addition to the neighborhood, blending modern design with the community feel and urban vibe of University Heights.
