SD Tech by Alexandria has been revitalized to serve as a hybrid technology and life science campus. Its conference center, located in the heart of the campus, aims to synergize the tenant community by serving as a venue for hospitality through a variety of spaces for gathering, both indoors and out. With an aesthetic design inspired by the tech revolution of the late `70s and early `80s, the space pays homage to innovations taken from the original San Diego Tech Center history, and its functional design solutions were driven by a focus on guest experience, health and wellness, and sustainability.

The conference center prioritizes occupant health and wellness with ample circulation and ventilation, increased access to natural light, and a strong connection to the outdoors. Indoor spaces connect more directly with outdoor spaces for a safe environment post Covid, in what was originally a long, dark expanse of a lobby. Access to daylight was an important element in the design of several conference spaces, while energy efficiency was achieved by exceeding LPD code requirements (for lighting power density) by over 20%.
