With nearly $10 million in operational and financial investments made by the Port, which took ownership of Seaport Village in 2018, Seaport Village’s revitalization has artfully combined strategic site enhancements and activations, community engagement, placemaking efforts, human-centered design, and integrated communications.

Since 2020, the retail center has gone from 20 vacancies to four vacancies, onboarding a variety of exciting new offerings for guests and visitors, including specialty retail shops, locally-beloved eateries & high-profile restaurant operators (including soon-to-open Malibu Farm, which in and of itself has transformed a 14,000 square-foot landmark property through a multi-million dollar renovation), outdoor entertainment, artist-in-residency, a satellite broadcast studio & podcasting studio, and upgraded amenities including an “Urban Beach.”

A property-wide refresh has included site enhancements, signage & wayfinding markers, upgraded landscaping, debuted a new paint color pallet, multiple commissioned public art installations & murals, and bolstered communal seating with flexible furniture.
